Our UBC NAME Grand Challenge program is designed to achieve two goals:
First, to help student learn practical skills that normally are not included in academic corriculum including research methods, project/time management, problem solving, etc. and
Second, to help industries get access to an external probloem solving engine which normally thinks outside of their box!
The Grand Challenge can address specific industry challenges or an sponsored broad, open-ended challenge in maritime industry like ship recycling.
The magellan prize is designed to boost creative thinking and trigger revolutionary ideas in the field of marine industry.
Modelled after DARPA challenge, each year, students, industry professionals and innovators will compete to propose best ideas in response to a challenge provided by Magellan Prize Program.
The competition is open to teams and organization from all around the world and all age groups including highschool students are welcome to participate.
The first competition is planned to occure in Spring 2020 in Vancouver.
Got an industry challenge you want to tackle? We can help solve that.
